Your Wedding Vibe.
You’ve recently got engaged, and one of the first things you want to do is decide the vibe for your wedding day, naturally. But, visually these days we are SO oversaturated with imagery and “instagramable” weddings that we can totally get lost in a rabbit hole of ideas - usually, with expectations of grandure and a false image of what you can get within what you’re actually willing to spend. Because let’s be honest, Weddings can be expensive.
Importantly though, a lot of these images come from huge budget events, or are AI generated and are not reflective of most couples weddings. But, thinking about what you want in depth and with some good suppliers, you can get a realistic idea of how we can achieve your concept for your day.
Thoughtful detail, the right suppliers and being clear with your vision can be the things that elevate your concept. Basically, put your money in the right places rather than adding items to fill a space. I’m not saying don’t go all out, but whether you have a huge budget or small budget. Ultimately it’s your day, so you, as a couple, are the ones who need to be happy with what you have received for the money you’ve invested.
Pinterest and Instagram are amazing visual aids when you’re trying to communicate your ideas to suppliers, but can also hinder by stopping you from creating your OWN vision. Following trends are, of course seen as ”fashionable”, but your wedding isn’t a fleeting trend, it’s about your ideas and your personal flare. So, following trends could mean that you have years of not liking what you chose, inevitably they come around again and become “retro” (if you’re lucky).
There is no right or wrong, and if a current trend reflects you and what you like then of course go with it, what I’m saying is, you don’t have to rely on them if you’re stuck with ideas. Your wedding is an investment, you will look back on those memories in years to come, so make sure - no matter what your budget is - you choose something that represents you as a couple, and suppliers who you trust to achieve this with you.
Think about what colours, styles, flowers, dresses, suits etc that you’ve always liked. I’m not saying don’t take any inspiration from current or upcoming trends, I personally don’t think its a good idea to base your whole vibe off of an influencer or wedding ‘trend’ posts.
So, when you dive in to looking for wedding ideas or inspiration, make yourself one or two collections. One that reflects you your interests, hobbies, favourite flowers, colour palettes, who you are as a couple. You can even ask close people or each other - what comes to mind when you think of us? and a second vision board of wedding styles you like, graphics that you love, napkins, flowers or even trends you like. This way you can draw inspiration from everything you have collated and decide how you can trickle these elements whether its super bold and obvious, or subtle nods to your characters, through the design elements of your day. Making each and every detail truly yours, timeless and unique to you.
