Workshops are for Everyone
After studying Art pretty much my entire life and having two artist parents, being creative, drawing and making is in my very core. It’s my whole life, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. As I began running my own classes and workshops years ago and meeting more and more people who don’t allow much time to be creative. I realised that there is a huge lack of ways to stop, and make something with your own hands in this very busy, very screen based world we live in.
Sometimes the soul food we need is to just make something - even if you don’t love it. Immersing yourself in the creative process and using things that are tactile is not only really therapeutic but also lets your mind relax. Particularly when you’re working with natural materials.
Not only that but, its an opportunity to try something different, and who knows - maybe you’ll really enjoy it! It’s not about being good or “perfect”, these days we are pressured to do everything right - It’s about making time and doing a bit of self care. One of the other lovely things about going to a class or workshop is that whether you go alone, or with friends, everyone is so captivated by their own creative journey you can just relax, and take your time to enjoy it for yourself.
There’s something magic about taking the pressure off and just being creative for YOU. There are so many local micro businesses that offer creative workshops at all price ranges, from flowers to pottery to painting or life drawing classes. So why not make this your year to try out new things! For updates on Ink and Earth Studio workshops, events or private bookings, follow our social media pages or check our website.
