The Importance of Sentiment on your Wedding Day
Leading on from my previous blog “Finding your wedding Team, I find it only fitting to dive deeper in to the subject of making your wedding day yours. One really lovely way of doing this is by adding elements of sentimental value in to the core of your planning, in to your decor or in to your wording and graphics.
As a wedding florist, part of our planning will include how we can create sentimental moments through subtle nods with the flowers we together choose. For example, for me using an element of your Mums or Grans bouquet within your own bouquet, within your style can be a lovely touch. Or, having favourite flowers of loved ones who can’t be with us to celebrate incorporated in to the day. Or, maybe a flower from the first bouquet your partner ever gave you.
Adding these touches can just elevate that feeling that it truly is your day. Your family and friends, your history and future, your love story. During planning I always ask, are there any flowers of sentimental value you’d like me to include? and, given that they are in season, I will use these thoughtfully where they suit your designs.
This applies to all aspects of planning of course, if a particular flower was out of season, or unavailable, we would discuss other ways we can add personal touches to your flowers or decor. Wedding vendors usually have great experience in this and will help you add those touches with their suggestions or ideas. So remember to always tell your vendors of these ideas, even if you have no idea how to create it, thats what we are here for!
